| I'm not really sure, even after research since 1998. No one seems to agree. I've seen anywhere from 40 to 60 but no comprehensive listing for tobacco smoke. The anti-smokers always quote the 4,000 chemicals but can't name them because Stanton Glantz picked that number out of the air. The most I have seen listed on Toxic Toxicology is 19 or so. What that article about the study has pointed out is, as far as I'm concerned, that discount marlboro or SHS was not considered carcinogenic until 2002, long after this study was finished. Everything I have found has pointed to the EPA report being fraudulent. They even committed to a conclusion before their study of studies was completed. The findings were adjusted to bring the risk factors to double the actual findings in order to be able to list tobacco smoke as a carcinogen. I have a listing of over 150 studies. Most scientist wont consider a risk factor of less than 3 to be a slight health risk. Only 3 of the studies show a risk factor of 3 to 4. It's all about profit of the makers of smoking cessation products. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, set up by Johnson & Johnson, is behind most of the bans being passed. It's all about money and control not health. |
