• January 4, 2007 - 2006/2007
New year, and all that jazz. Last year wasn't as eventful as some, but was still filled with fun and frolics. Finished college, which as an amazing acheivement, especially good because I got the best grade I possibly could've done. And it meant I got into Uni. That has been fantastic so far, and I'm sure it's going to carry on that way.There were loads of people who had a big impact on me in 2006. The people I started the year with, the old orchy lot. Even though we don't see each other very often, I still feel an amazing bond with all of them, and it feels like we've never been apart when we get together. Things might be weird with us now, because of events out of my control, between 2 of them. I don't want to get anymore involved than I already am. I just hope it gets sorted out, because they're both brilliant people. Then there's the Bostasp crew of people. Adam, Batson, Dave, Russ, Sean, Sam and Finch. Through the ups and downs of the group, it's been amazingly fun. Nero's and Penny's will forever hold brilliant memories for me. The random day trips we've taken. I just feel comfortable with them.As I do with my girlies, Stef and Maz. I don't know where I'd be without them! I miss them lots when we're apart. These ladies are the most important ladies in the world to me. And I love them both very very much. There are the new people I met at Uni. Rich, Rob, Ben, Vicks and Rach, my flatmates, they are so much fun to live with. We get on so well, I'm lucky to be with them. The random people I've met, through them and others. People like Tom Speight, a one-off character for sure! The people off my course, both designers and techies, in my year and the others. And, most importantly to me now. Dan. But I'm gonna talk about him in a bit... I've lost touch with a couple of people over the year, and I feel shit for that, but I guess that's how life goes. I hope they're all happy in whatever they're doing. I keep meaning to meet up with people, but through general ness of me being shit, we haven't. And I apologise for that.2006 brought more travelling for me, which was amazing. Went to Toronto, Canada with college. Which, although some of it was a bit of a disappointment (mostly the art galleries!) I saw Niagara Falls, one of the most spectacular sights I've ever seen. Also went to the USA again. To Lafayette, Indiana, where I stayed with the lovliest American family ever. The Gephart's are amazing. Visited Indianapolis as well. Then we went onto Chicago. Somewhere I would love to go back to. That was with WYBB.Was a big year musically for me as well. Was my last year playing regularly, as I left all the youth groups I was in. It was an amazing way to go out though. Especially, the Gala Concert in Symphony Hall in Birmingham. In WYWO we had played an amazing piece called 'Windows of the World', which has a stunning horn solo in. Which fell to me to play. It is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever played. After playing it out at the Easter concert, I got several congratulations, which was lovely. Only then was I told we were playing it at Birmingham. Now I've played solos in pieces before in front of that many people, but this was different. It was one of my last concerts, it was so exposed, and it was quite difficult. But I nailed it. And, it was the best musical moment of my life. Almost as good, as the finale piece, which was written by an amazing person, my friend Marky P. I miss music people.But, enough of the looking back. 2007 is here. It started amazingly well. I started the year with the guy I love. The first words of 2007 were I love you. An amazing feeling I've never had before. A brilliant house party, much alcohol consumed, a few incidents. But fun none the less. More importantly for me was that I was with Dan. I've never felt about anyone the way I feel about him. I'm hoping that 2007 is just the start of our time together. I'm not setting out to change myself, or have any resolutions, I'll only break them.2007 for me will be about being myself. About keeping going at Uni. About taking no shit from anyone. About expanding on what's good already, rather than focussing on the bad. About me, about who I am, who I want to be. |

| Christmas is over. I can't say I'm overly sad about that. Yes, I like to give/receive presents, see everyone and have all the festivities and stuff. But I just can't help but feel it's all so forced. Spending so much time with my family, it's just not what we do. It's so intense, I think that's the problem. We argue so much more than we normally do. This year especially, cause me and my brother have both been away at Uni. I'm now back in Liverpool, ready for New Year. Got this evening to myself, there's no-one else around really. Dan's back tomorrow, he's at some quiz thing with his family tonight. I can't wait to see him, I've missed him so much. It has been amazing seeing all my friends again though. Saw the girlies (Steph and Maz) and the Bostasp lot (Adam, Sam, Russ, Batson, Sean and even Dave!) saw Neil, Phiebs and Bodley. Saw everyone from my street. Just gotta catch up with the orchy lot when I pop back for a few days after New Year. That could be slightly awkward if we get Ben and Charly together. Never mind. I'm amazed I've not spent as much as I thought I would over this Christmas period. Although saying that, I have to resist the temptation in the Bull Ring when I come home... that could be hard!! Got some swanky new jeans yesterday. And my mother bought me new boots today, which are funky. Mostly got them because I bust my old ones. Hmmm I need more pear drops... |
