Radio is well and alive

I am of the MTV generation and I remember people saying that radio was dead.  I do believe that MTV’s first video was a song by the name “Video Killed the Radio Star”.  At the time, I believed it.  But as videos got the squeeze by reality programming and internet started its reign, it became clear that radio was a little bit harder to kill.  It would and will take more than a bunch of videos to keep people away from the radio.

Video’s became harder and harder to find with the advent of top 40 shows and reality TV.  You would often have to stay up until the wee hours of the night to catch that video exclusive that everyone was going on about.  Then you would have to endure watching the same 15 video’s for hours on end before you would finally see the one that you wanted to see.

Then along came internet.  On the internet you can find internet radio.  Tons and tons of channels that all come in crystal clear.  You can listen to whatever you want to.  You can get classical, jazz, hip hop, dance, or you can just switch back and forth amongst several different ones.  They even have some genres of music that you have never even heard of.  So dear video, I am sorry to disappoint you.  You may have put a hurting on radio for a second but not for long because radio is live and well!

Radio Tech

With CDs and Mp3 players one might consider the radio to be a blast from the past that is no longer in the running for anything along the lines of modern. But many radio stations, and most especially satellite radio, are thriving in today’s world of new music and talk topics. While radio stations are not quite the powerhouse they used to be, satellite radio has opened the doors for more stations and more musical and talk radio choices than ever before. In all honesty, without the radio the sites that sell downloadable music would end up out of business. Without the radio to introduce new music and new artists to the world, the music industry would die. While most people lean toward their Mp3 players and CDs on a regular basis, the radio is far from dead and it doesn’t look like we can kill it off with our current technology. Internet radio, free radio plays that offer a wide variety of music, is becoming increasingly popular. When you listen to free internet radio, you end up with a conglomeration of songs that are similar to music you already like. This makes internet radio a great way to experience new music. When you are itching for the old familiar favorites, CDs and Mp3 players might fit the bill, but only the radio can fill you in on the hottest and latest happenings in the music world. The radio will be here for a very long time, as we can never replace this type of communication to let the public know of the new and improved music that is hitting the shelves.

Internet Radio

I am a radio fan. This is so pleasant to know that there are so many like-minded persons in the world, who also can’t live without radio. Radio exists more than one hundred years and it still exists despite all innovations in the sphere of communications. Radio has successfully overcome the strongest competence with television, Internet, etc. What is the secret of such a high survivability? I think that this secret lies in the irreplaceability of radio. It can’t be compared neither with television, nor with the Internet. Radio creates a very special atmosphere. This is the atmosphere of mysteriousness and intimacy. It is created by the fact that you can hear a person, but can’t see him/her. Thus you can imagine the appearance of an anchorperson. This is a very interesting occupation. When you watch TV, there is nothing special in it. Everything is unveiled and plain. Another thing is radio. The fact that you can listen to the radio all day long but can’t watch TV more than a couple of hours proves the fact that listening to the radio is much more interesting than watching TV. Besides, you can listen to the radio and do something else at the same time. This is impossible in case with television. Today a combination of radio and Internet has appeared. This is wonderful, as now the opportunities of radio are really huge. I work in the Internet and listen to the Internet radio. I choose my favorite channel and combine business with pleasure.
