The holiday of romance has also been called the Hallmark holiday, meaning that there is nothing more than a commercialization of the holiday of love. The holiday of romance is based on the long ago stories of love and honor. It was a time to be chivalrous and a time to be totally engaged in the love interest that caught one’s eye. The holiday of romance was never supposed to be about diamonds and flowers and candy but of earning the attention of the love interest you hoped to capture.The holiday of romance was a Catholic celebration in the early beginning, a day that was devoted to two specific saints who had been prematurely killed after a long torture based on their religious dedication. Over time, the saints were forgotten and love replaced the Valentine’s Day aura. With romance the center of attention the day is now anything but a religious experience. It is now much more an excuse to spend extra money on your loved one in the hopes of becoming intimate with a loved one.
There have been many criticisms about the holiday of romance. Many couples refuse to participate in the romantic aspects of Valentine’s Day simply because it has lost meaning to so many. There is much money to be spent and much to be proven through the perfect gift rather than a dedication to the pursuit of romance. Romance is the thriving heart of love and can be expressed more directly through the gentle touch of one love to another rather than an extravagant gift that one could not afford in the first place.

There is a legend which is told to every girl in her youth. It tells that she should wait all her life for a beautiful prince on the white horse who will love her with all his heart till his death. Many women still do believe in his myth. The majority of women like when the “prince” is a little bit romantic. But if you know that you are far from Sheakespear’s Romeo try to be at least sometimes romantic. No woman would ever object to pleasant little surprises for no occasion. There are many sites which are ready to help you to organise them. For example, here is one simple but effective way to make your girlfriend smile. You need a friend to help you.When you will be walking in the evening in the park, tell her that you would like to have a snack. Ask her if she wants anything too. Then say: “wait, I will now make an order.” Phone your friend and tell him in the most civil manner that you would like to have some chocolate of fruit for example. You friend is supposed to go to the nearest supermarket, buy the necessary products and bring them to the park. It would be better if he is wearing a waiter’s suit. When he gives you your order he should say for example: “20 dollars, sir. But for the most charming and beautiful girl in the world it's free of charge.” It will, probably, surprise your girlfriend.

Sociologists are advised in their youth not to fall in love passionately, if later in life you want to find happiness. In turn, the anthropologists found that happiness is possible to find, if not to lose the first love. "If the world was perfect, we would have remembered only the second love," - argues Malcolm Braynin of the Institute for Sociological and Economic Research University of Essex.
Having studied the case of a successful long life together, the scientist discovered that the passionate first love can be a realistic measure, because the more adult relationships with new partners inevitably seem boring.
At the same time, the anthropologist Helen Fisher of Rutgers University in New Jersey found incontrovertible material evidence of the strength of romantic love.
